Simple Ladung

After some research, we decided to build a 3 compartments ladung via DIY. We have ample of time to build this 3 compartments ladung during MCO.

The measurements of each component is 3ftx3ftx6ft. 

The foundation was laid with wire mesh before adding 6 inch thick of sand over it. To prevent rat or others from entering the ladung via from under ground.

Once the foundation done. Next is piping work. We decided to have a regular bath water change for all 3 compartments without going into the ladung. Each compartments have their own tap to control the water flow into bath pot.

Building up the ladung frame. We use slotted angle bar as frame. Easy to mount the wire mesh later.

Installing the partition wall in the ladung. We use cement board for this part. All materials are easily obtainable at local hardware shop.

Fixing up wire mesh onto the slotted angle frame.

Nest box is then inserted into each individual ladung's compartment. We decided to use a sliding up nest box to view the eggs and chicks in future. We try as much as possible not to enter the ladung once breeding pair is in. Food and fresh water will be replaced on daily base via a small swing door in the center on each ladung.

Live plants are added in each compartments to give a more natural environment.

Next step is to mount all the doors in the ladung including the main door.

Finally to install rain guttering system. Ladung project completed. Now to introduce ABP MB to their new home.
